Computer Lab on February 13

DO THIS IN GROUPS OF 3 TO 4 STUDENTS!

1) Go to the University of Utah site on genetics library (see link to right)
2) Each student picks one Level 3, one Level 2, and one Level 1 disorder.  Each person in your group should do a different disorder.  When it comes to Level 1, each group should have a person do cystic fibrosis and sickle cell disease.
3)  Independently (20 minutes):  each person writes down type(s) of genetic transmission (recessive, dominant, x-linked, autosomal, missing chromosome, multifactorial, etc), symptoms, possible treatments, and anything else you think your group members should know.
4)  In your group (20 minutes):  each person in the group verbally shares the important facts they have learned about their 3 disorders.  Other groups members ask questions and write down what the member has shared.  List the name of each student with the disorders they talked about.
5)  Turn in your paper to Ms. Kenny.  You will get back to on Wednesday to use for test preparation.
6)  When you finish, work on Pedigree Worksheet and then work on Genetics Review.
