Welcome to Second Semester!

We will begin this semester with Meiosis and Chromosomes, then move on to Genetics, Replication, Transcription, and Translation, Enzymes, Biotech, and round the year up with Plants.

• Monday 1/25:  No School!  Teacher grading day.
• Tuesday 1/26:  Final Exams Back and Recollect.  Notes on phases of Meiosis.  Start Meiosis Creature Activity.  Read 3.3 on Meiosis.
• Thursday 1/28:  Finish Meiosis Creature Activity.  Crossing over during Meiosis.  Gene Mapping.

Welcome to 2016!!

Welcome back to school!  We only have a couple of quick weeks before finals, so the time will go quickly!  Check Synergy and make sure that all of your work is in.  The deadline for late work and extra credit is Friday, January 15, 2016.  We will finish mitosis and have a quiz on mitosis on Wed 1/13.  Final Exams are on Wed 1/20-Fri 1/22.

• Tues 1/5:  Snow Day!
• Thurs 1/7:  Do Mitosis and Binary Fission Simulations at your table.  Work on Cell Division Worksheet.  I will check it off on Mon 1/11.  
• Mon 1/11: Add up Early Work! Finish simulations and other aspects of the cell division worksheet.  Check them off.  Notes on cell division, cyclins, and cancer.  Hand out first semester review sheet for final exam.  Short mitosis quiz on Wednesday.
• Wed 1/13:  Early Dismissal Day, so short classes!  Take mitosis quiz.  Review for Final Exam.
• Fri 1/15:  Late Work/Extra Credit/and Test Correction Deadline!!  Jeopardy Review for Final Exam.
• Mon 1/18:  Martin Luther King Junior Day.  No School.
• Tues 1/19:  B Day.
• Wed 1/20:  Final Exams, Periods 1,2, and 4
• Thurs 1/21:  Final Exams, Periods 5, 6, and 8
• Fri 1/22:  Final Exams Periods 3, and 7
• Mon 1/25: No School!  Teacher Grading Day!
• Tues 1/26:  Second Semester Starts!!!  Meiosis.
